Treatment Methods

The treatment modality I use most often is Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I love the cognitive model because it is extensively researched and proven to work exceptionally well for a variety of issues we face in life.

CBT borrows from many psychotherapeutic modalities, including dialectical behavior therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, Gestalt therapy, compassion focused therapy, mindfulness, solution focused therapy, motivational interviewing, positive psychology, interpersonal psychotherapy.

I also love CBT because clients learn skills that they can apply when they’re no longer in therapy! Research shows that with CBT, people continue to improve over time and are less likely to relapse to old behaviors. It’s therapy that works over time, not just during the session.

Most importantly, I individualize treatment plans to meet your goals and needs. In addition to CBT, I also utilize culturally sensitive, compassion focused, attachment-based, relational, person-centered, and strength-based treatment and therapy.
